Adventures in Toddler Hygiene

Admist growing fears of coronavirus, you will find store shelves devoid of toilet paper. You will also find my children rolling on the ground in public restrooms and licking shopping carts. Here's  hoping my adamant handwashing and pushing of multi-vitamins agenda wards off germs.

Past data indicates not. It isn't so much that my whole household is always sick and catches everything. More the fact that at least one person seems to have something at all times. Also, with a household of 8, the numbers just aren't in our favor. What with half the kids in school and the other half rolling on public bathroom floors and licking shopping carts. Good times.

We were in the Big City today for Sunshine's 15 month appointment. She is 20 pounds and inches. 40th and 20th percentile respectively. Happy healthy growing little thing. Hit all milestones and gave us a reason to get out of the house and see what germs out of town offers.

Twin Toddler Potty Training

Last week I decided to start potty training the twins.  After polling my sister, mother, and mother-in-law.  Readiness signs seemed to be there, plus ending 8.5 years of daily diaper changes would be pretty awesome.

They are proud of their big girl underoos. I don't feel comfortable enough to leave the house. I am giving it 10 days and then re-evaulating if we will continue.  They are in diapers overnight, underwear during the day and naptime. Meekers  has been dry in the morning 95% of the time, Gracers is about 60-70% of the time.

Gracers had been asking for her diaper changed while she was still dry, so I started taking her to the bathroom when she did and she started asking to use the bathroom. Meekers followed and wanted to try whatever her sister was doing. I can't decide who is actually getting trained, but would appreciate a prayer that it all clicks soon.

March Twink Stats

Gracers has been walking more this week. The older kids have been competitive on who has witnessed the most consecutive steps. 10 steps is the most Mom can confirm, bragging rights of big brother swells the distance of her journeys at each telling.

Meekers has taken a few steps, but is generally more inclined to dive towards arms rather than walk. She cruises along everything and has an crawling speed.

Gracers has been sleeping through the night, Meekers did once this week. Bear still doesn't sleep all the way through the night as a 3 year old, but I am trying to be optimistic that 2017 will be the year of restful nights.

Nora's Nine Month Milestones

Nora has had an eventful March. On the 1st she took her first wobbly steps. On the 5th I heard something clinking when she took my glass of water, and then discovered her 1st tooth.

Today is the 10th, and she has 4 teeth and 2 more she is working on. Which really explains all the fussiness and biting this week.

9 months old and growing up fast. She says Mom, Dad, Up and gibberish. If you ask her big brothers she says all sorts of things, usually things they want.

One

Bear is one.

She wishes you all a Happy St Paddy's day and her Mommy hopes she doesn't celebrate it quite as enthusiastically as the years go by as mom did.

She'll always want cupcakes with mint frosting with me forever right?

Happy St Paddy's Day

Small Steps for a Man, Big Steps for a Baby

Bear is walking...and she knows it! My mom witnessed her first steps between the Hubby and I when she was staying with us after my surgery. Little girl didn't realize she forgot to hold on the couch, so she was unaware of the 3 steps she took.  It has taken 3 weeks for her to realize what she could do, no turning back now.

The Eldest Turned a Handful

Now I know I have a picture from his 4th birthday...but at the moment I can't find it. However the picture was taken close-ish.
(Computer is broke again - first valid reason to overshare on facebook, I found all the other years)

Happy 5th Birthday Bud.
